Miss Kira is 9

We all love a card making opportunity. He are are the cards Lachlan and I made for Kira's birthday.  From a loving brother . . .  and from a loving mother. Then there were the invitations for . . .    four friends to come over for a swim and cake. The cake looked very like the one in the  Women's Weekly Children's Birthday Cake Book. Supplies: Cards - SU stamps, ribbon and cardstock; PTI dies; various stamps. Cake - Squinkies surf board & folk; leggo ladder and marble 'beach balls'.

Card catch up

Image
I have been pottering away and making a few cards for a variety of activities.  Here is a catch up on them. Welcome to the Graduate Nurses of 2012 I saw the design on  splitcoaststampers . I didn't have the matching ribbon, so I improvised by colouring some cheap organza ribbon with the matching inkpad and stampin' write. It is a lovely design and lends itself to great variety with my much loved but seldom used jumbo wheels. Supplies: SU jumbo wheel & card stock; various stamps - source unknown; vintage clock - Kassazz.

Commissioned Cards

I was asked if I would make some cards for  International Women' Day (8 March) . I was pleased I had just picked up an order of the Stampin' Up 2012 In Colour Patterns Designer Series Paper.  My design was inspired by Candy Butterflies by  Judy May . I will be taking them to work tomorrow.  I hope she likes them as much as I enjoyed making them :) Supplies: Stampin' Up 2012 In Colour , DSP & Beautiful Wings embosslit; nestabilities-labels twelve.

Michael's result

He took the challenge.  Here's his result: Your accuracy was impressive. Your speed was 33 WPM I guess I have a new challenge to use my time.

Typing Test

I was wasting TIME  on the computer and decided to take a typing test @  Learn to Type .  My results were: " Your speed was 26 WPM with 4 mistakes (adjusted speed 22 WPM)" I have now challenged my loving husband to have a go . . .

End of Holiday Blues

Image
I have arrived at the evening before returning to work . . . how sad for me.  I had an intention of blogging daily while on the marvelous Pacific Dawn for 14 nights, but alas didn't have an internet connection.  Since returning to Australia 8 days ago I have been struggling with cranking up the energy levels. I will find the TIME to get the holiday story condensed and together for blogging.

Thursday, 19 January

I have been spending time indoors since Wednesday afternoon.  I had a treatment for my eye disorder ( Sorsby Macular Dystrophy ) called Photo Dynamic Therapy (PDT).  This has been very sensitive to sunlight and bright lights.  I need to stay indoors for 3 days to avoid getting a serious case of sunburn. I definately don't want that as we are heading off on our 14 night cruise on the  White Cloud Wonders  trip to NZ. Before my treatment I took the kids up to Cedar Creek Falls, Mt Tamborine . This has been a favourite spot since coming to live in Brisbane.
