Queenstown NZ, August 2017

I seem to have this digital memory keeping process developed (at last!!!). A terrific Dixon family get together in Queenstown, NZ.  Sadly Michael couldn't get leave at this time and both Kira and Lachlan needed to be at school :(  While I was there I also attended the Stroke2017 Conference . We had a beautiful weekend away. It was a great start to a 3 week holiday for me from work. The photo collage was an experiment with the Becky Higgins - Project Life app on my phone.

Kira and I

 Kira came home on Friday transformed into a butterfly :)  On Saturday while Michael slept and Lachlan visited a friend Kira and I went shopping.  We treated ourselves to a break at the Shingle Inn.  I enjoyed my coffee while Kira enjoyed her ice cream from Wendy's next door. I had to gice way to this family crossing the road and so Lachlan took a photo for me after they were safe :)

EKKA 2013

I am always Impressed when my children remember what I say.  Especially when it was 365 days ago "I promise I will take you to the EKKA next year"! We did go and had a lovely day, accompanied by Jeannette. Waiting for the bus at Eight Mile Plains busway  Milking a cow  Feeding in the animal nursery. Darwin: Stroke Scientific Meeting

I was very pleased that work sponsored myself and Consultant Physician Suzana to attend the 24th Stroke Society Scientific Meeting in Darwin.  We flew up on Tuesday and returned in the wee hours on Saturday morning.  We managed to pack in 3 full days on scientific information as well as some social activities.  This was the desert bar at the Seafood smorgasbord on Tuesday evening with Suzana's friend Mary.  Wednesday evening saw us enjoying an NT sunset at the Sailing Club. fter that we ha Thursday evening we fitted in both a trip to Mindil Beach markets and enjoyed another spectacular sunset.  After that we enjoyed a delicious dinner and some great company with some colleagues from WA at Pee Wees on the Point Here I am at the waterfront where the convention centre is located. Then on Friday I caught up with cousin Julie and her beau Gerd on their yacht Kestrel II.  the we had a magnificent dinner at a greek restaurant. It was an...

Happy Birthday Jaki The card girls gathered to day for a delayed celebration of Jaki's birthday (last Saturday).  I made her a Post-it Note holder (tutorial here ): and a card Welcome Benjamin We also celebrated and welcomed Benjamin Edward into the card making group. Queensland Music Festival - Worlds Biggest Orchestra Challenge

What an exciting day out we had.  Lachlan joined in the challenge for the Largest Trumpet Ensemble - lead by James Morrison. After that we headed down to Suncorp Stadium to attempt to break the record for the Worlds Biggest Orchestra.  Here we are before entering the stadium Kira was with the school section I was amongst the clever triangle players and Lachlan was up high with the trumpeters and here are all the 7223 musicians from the other end of the pitch. A NEW WORLD RECORD !

Easter in Canberra

Thursday, 29 March We loaded the car and headed off on the first part of the journey by driving to Coffs harbour as soon as we could in the evening.  Lachlan had been at a school camp the night before, so we needed to take his 'camp clothes' with us!!! Good Friday, 30 March A really big drive day (800 km) to arrive in Canberra late afternoon.  Well done to Nicola for driving and to the kids and Michael who kept themselves entertained for the 11 hours it took.  We checked into the Cliffton Suites , then after a freshen up met the 'family' for dinner at a delightful Pasta & Pizza restaurant. Easter Saturday, 31 March Annemarie was heading back to Sydney after lunch, so we all spent some time together at the park.  The cousins managed to be in one place at the same time and we took a few snaps. Rock Climbing

25 January While Michael slept the kids and I were planning an outing to Southbank.  However it had been raining for a few days and we thought that it would be better to find an indoor activity.  So we headed to Rocksports . Here we are al harnessed up I run through the safety check with Lachlan before he heads up the wall. They both enjoyed their climbs and were very very brave.

17 January  The kids spent the night on a sleep over with our Easter camping friends. Then we had a sleep over at Jupiters Casino on the Gold Coast. We had anice meal in one of the many restaurants then headed to the Tap Dogs show.  Which was very energetic and super entertaining.
